Artist Statement: In my career as an artist I practice several disciplines, mainly jewelry making, goldsmithing and painting. In all my work there is a characteristic interplay between intuition, spontaneity and experimentation on the one hand and research, observation and critical evaluation on the other.
The complete freedom of thought I experience when my hands take their own course provides a counterpoint to the later stages of reflection and contemplation. Through this process, I seek a balance between artisanal perfection and the power of spontaneous chance. The unexpected beauty that can arise from imperfections is what I am looking for.
