As a documentary/journalistic photographer, I focus on the world around me. With a keen interest in (geo)politics and events around me, I look for stories in which changes in living environments and their impact are central,. Where often the vulnerable are hit the hardest.
For example, I followed the residents of “illegal” boats at the NDSM wharf, who were in danger of losing their moorings. In doing so, I examined not only the human aspect, but also the complex bureaucratic processes involved.
I also traveled to Ukraine several times to record what the war is doing to the country and its people.
Over the next few years, I want to delve deeper into Ukraine and the effects of the war - not only there, but also in the Netherlands and other parts of the world.
