Esther Boukema
Esther Boukema is a designer, educator and pioneer in the field of world citizenship along the line of food. In 2019, she wrote a curriculum on this for primary schools.
Food says everything about who we have become as human beings over the centuries. We can also help shape the world of the future through food.
In 2004 she founded a mobile culinary laboratory 'De Smaak te Pakken' where elementary school students learn all about the value, power of- and dilemmas surrounding food on their way to responsible world citizenship. De Smaak te Pakken pedagogy stands for way of experience-based, Head, Heart and Hands education. Meanwhile, she guides schools in implementing the curriculum.
