His work gained international attention through the AVRO's Close Up documentary Chris Berens: Master of his Magical Universe, his appearance in Krabbé seeks van Gogh and designing the album cover for Blondie's Panic of Girls. Berens has been praised for his detailed, magical-realist style and his ability to create complex visual worlds.
