De 1800 Roeden
Nature

With your laptop in the orchard, meeting on the waterfront or sculpting outdoors. That's De 1800 Roeden. You immediately taste the atmosphere of an Incubation site when you walk onto the grounds. The use of a diversity of plants, combined with natural materials, has created a site that radiates a pleasant tranquility.

In order to give flora and fauna as much opportunity as possible, there is extensive and phased mowing management. Where previously a neglected fringe of poplars blew in the wind, a broadly diverse lot of trees has now been introduced. The undergrowth includes mostly native species, creating even more opportunity for wildlife. Besides being able to pick arugula, rapeseed, figs, apples, pears and hazelnuts, the site is also attractive to birds and many other animals.

In the application and choice of materials, efforts are made to minimize environmental impact. The materials present on the site are reused as much as possible. In the construction and layout of the site, constant efforts are made to add value to nature.

De 1800 roeden is part of the Gardens of West, providing space for a combination of old and new landscapes, agriculture and healthy produce (fruittuinvanwest.nl).
