Muted colours, restrained light and textured surfaces transform familiar environments into places suspended between memory and change.

In Between Dust & Light, dust becomes a symbol of erosion, loss and interrupted histories, while light represents presence, resilience and continuity.

Rather than depicting conflict directly, Hashem focuses on what remains after rupture: abandoned interiors, scattered objects, uncertain gestures and traces of domestic life. His paintings reveal spaces where vulnerability and strength, trauma and hope, absence and belonging exist side by side.

Opening Night: September 12, 2026, 18:00

📍 Gallery Intussen
Joris van den Berghweg 101–113
1067 HP Amsterdam

Enter a world suspended between departure and arrival, destruction and renewal.

Between Dust & Light invites us to reflect on what we carry with us when familiar structures disappear — and on the ways memory, identity and light continue to survive among the remains.

Amjad Hashem transforms traces of what has been lost into spaces where something new can still begin.

🎟️ Free Admission

🅿️ Free Parking

Amjad Hashem BETWEEN DUST & LIGHT Solo ExhibitionPaintings by Amjad Hashem Gallery Intussen presents Between Dust & Light, a solo exhibition by Syrian-Dutch visual artist Amjad Hashem, bringing together a new body of large scale acrylic paintings that explore migration, memory, identity, loss, and renewal.
